Ancaster Capital was founded by Ally and Amir Bashir, two entrepreneurs with hands-on operating experience gained over a decade of building and scaling businesses. We’re looking to help business owners transition their companies to new management. Two entrepreneurs with over a decade of operating and leadership experience

Alexandra (Ally) Bashir, Founding Partner
Ally is an experienced leader and operator having spent most of her career as an executive in high growth companies accountable for revenue generation, profitability and strategic decisions. Her specialty is scaling great ideas, doing so at both Super and Uber where she helped the businesses surpass $1B in revenue. Ally has built and led teams upwards of 35 people spanning many functions including operations, supply chain, customer success, sales and strategy. She has also managed outsourced operations of over 3,000 headcount. She started her career at the Boston Consulting Group where for 2 years she helped advise Fortune 500 companies.

While she’s worked with some well known, large companies, Ally is also very familiar with owning and operating a small business as she’s grown up alongside her family’s companies in construction and home renovation.

In her spare time, Ally enjoys spending time with her son, cooking and reading. She’s also an avid TV watcher and not ashamed of it!

Ally graduated top of her class from the Richard Ivey School of Business.


Amir Bashir, Founding Partner
Amir is an operator and advisor with over 10 years of experience in high growth companies and venture capital. Amir led growth marketing at Uber where he was responsible for scaling revenue and hitting monthly targets. Amir has deep experience managing and optimizing marketing budgets at different scales – from thousands of dollars to hundreds of millions of dollars — to deliver the best return on investment. Amir is a seasoned manager, having led teams of all tenures and been a voice in executive decision making.

Prior to his career in marketing, Amir was a venture capitalist where he invested in early-stage startups across the Greater Toronto Area. Amir helped companies build and scale their go-to-market playbooks.

When not working, Amir can be found working in his garden, playing with his son or walking the dog.

Amir graduated with honours from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Our focus

  • Size: At least $5M+ annual revenue and $1M+ operating profit. We’re comfortable with and prepared to complete a much larger transaction, as applicable.

  • Geography: Located within the Greater Toronto Area or up to one hour out. We are hands on operators and want to be onsite everyday.

  • Industry: Industry-agnostic, so long as it’s stable or growing. Our experience in consulting and venture capital has taught us that all industries are interesting when you learn more about them.

  • Share: 75-100% acquisition.
